I needed a change.

So I went to the salon, without telling my husband who loves long hair, and I chopped off about 10 inches. Ooops. Sorry honey. Didn't even give the guy one last look. But I knew if I told him ahead of time he would freak. He's doing ok, after coming home after a day at the office, seeing the back of my head, thinking I was a friend visiting, and then realizing that the short-haired woman was actually his wife. (What I love about this picture is that you get to see my bathroom in all its glory: Raised toilet seat, paint blotches on the wall, painters tape, and before editing, dirty laundry.)

I'm really lovin' it. It takes me about 10 minutes to style in the morning.

And it doesn't end up in a pony tail 30 minutes after I've styled it each day.

** I had to go back and fix this post because my pictures disappeared for some reason!! **

  3. Love the new haircut!!! I have actually been thinking about cutting off my long hair and doing a bob. I am so addicted to ponytails like you were. Sometimes I think why do I spend so much time doing my hair each morning when eventually it will end up in a ponytail anyway. You've given me inspiration to go shorter.

  4. Love your hair by the way! I wanted to get back to you....
I use polyacrylic to finish the furniture, it seems to protect it really well.
My projects go fast, but I paint all of the time and kind of have a method
down.. I can generally do 2-3 tables in a 4 hour night (chairs take longer), but
I try to do all black pieces first , then the the art after everything is
basecoated, then I poly all at once.....Thanks for the compliment!!! Sara is
    great isn't she???

  9. Thanks so much for the supportive comment you left for me! I really appreciate all the positive feedback people sent me.

I LOVE your haircut. Sometimes we just have to do something a little crazy! :) You look very cute and ready for spring. It actually looks like a longer version of my hair. Matt used to be a long hair fan, but now he likes it short. I guess he's just been conditioned...

  15. You are very brave! It looks great. I really need to cut off my long hair but I just can't.

Thanks for stopping by my blog recently. To answer your question about the stocking pattern I made my own. I took a stocking that I liked the basic shape of and tweaked it and made it a lot larger. Let me know if you want the pattern and I will send it to you.

  19. Georgous hair! I did the same thing...why do all men love long hair? Mine asked if I was shaving it next time. URGH.

  20. I have that haircut too...and also gave Victoria B. credit! The only thing I hate about it is that you have to go in every month faithfully, or it starts to look kind of "mullet-y". But I do love that I'm not sportin' a ponytail everyday.

    It looks GREAT on you!

  22. Cutting off 10 inches and getting a great cut is so liberating! My husband loves long hair too. I never tell him before I chop it off.

  23. Hello! That is so funny. My husband LOVES my longer hair and begs me to keep it that way. I had it shorter for many years and just a few years ago I realized how much money I would save by having long hair. So I grew it out (always on the wrong end of fashion as I had POSH hair before POSH, but I digress). Anyway, now that he has seen my hair long he won't "let" me cut it again. So I've been toying with the idea of surprising him one day and just having it all cut off. Oops, Sorry Honey!

You are a smart lady...thanks for the motivation for the surprise attack! I want to be POSH again.

    Happy day!
    Melissa

  24. My wife got finally tired of my complaining about her chops, so, she's left it long since 2000. Long hair looks sexier and younger on mostly all women, as long as it is cared for. I help my wife whenever I can, and I'm thankful for her indulgence. I consider her hair an incredible gift and support. Lou
