10 Years Ago . . .

10 years ago Saturday (on Saturday Blogger wouldn't let me upload my photos, so I'm a couple days late), this little guy was born. Actually, we called him Baby Bunyan because he was just a little bit bigger than the standard newborn. This is a picture of him in NICU. The nurses thought he was pretty cool because he was about twice the size of most of their babies.
I still remember how that peach fuzz head smelled, and how yummy those big cheeks were.
Here is a picture of my grotesque stomach the morning he was born. I just stuck straight out and there was about 11 pounds of baby in there. Needless to say, my stomach doesn't look so hot now. (Did anyone see John and Kate Plus 8 where she has the same problem corrected? Yes, it would be a dream for me to do the same).
This white overall outfit we called "Humpty Dumpty". My extra large maternity overalls were just about the only thing that fit me.
Here is my handsome man now. Happy Birthday buddy!
And that ends Birthday Bonanza Month at the Jones house (well, not really, the birthday party is next week). I think I will go recuperate now (or start saving for next Fall).

Mrs. Jones!!!

Are you saying he was 11 pounds???

Okay...you looked FABULOUS! I STILL haven't lost my Noodle weight and believe me, it wasn't all in my belly, like yours was. You probably even went home in your pre-baby skinny jeans, you wench.
Ha haaaaa! When is the last time you heard that word??? 1983?
Happy Birthday to your boy!

xoxoxo,

Oh yeah! I had a baby belly like that with my frst daughter! Yikes! It really does a number on your skin doesnt it? But in the end they are worth stretch marks and all the rest.

Happy Birthday to your big guy! Hope is was wonderful!

They had a John & Kate Plus 8 marathon on last night and I think I wanted about 2 hours! I don't know how she manages all those kids. It looks like she has very little outside help.

Hapde Burfday to all of your not-so-little anymore ones! They are a gorgeous bunch. (And that is one impressive belly.)

Oh, Martha, you must know that having an enormous stomach creates the illusion of skinniness, kinda' like wearing black. Once the stomach was gone, my big huge butt looked as big as it actually was. In that hospital picture, I'm sure I was over 200 pounds (the baby was 10 pounds 14 ounces of that). It took me 3 months just to get out of maternity clothes! Skinny jeans should be banned.

My girlfriend and I are still laughing about one of my doctor visits during this pregnancy. I went in about month 7, and when the nurse weighed me she looked shocked. **She thought the scale was broken** so she weighed me on a different scale. Then she announced that it wasn't the scale -- I had gained 20 pounds in 4 weeks. Oooops.
