Organizing Embroidery Floss

My daughter likes to make friendship bracelets.
This is what her stash of embroidery floss looks looked like.
I was wasting time on my new favorite website (pinterest.com),
and I saw a photo of embroidery floss wrapped around clothes pins.
I just happened to have two packs of
clothes pins from the dollar store (30 pins for $1)
I used two packs.  $2.00
Looks so much better, don't you think?
I guess I didn't totally waste my time.

Have you become addicted to Pinterest yet?
(If you have no idea what on earth I'm
talking about, go here for an explanation.)

Here are my Pinterest Boards.

this is fabulous! What a great job! I downloaded wee illustrated bobbin type organizers for embroidery floss but it looked like far too much effort. Think I did about four colours and got bored lol

I'm also on Pinterest and I pinned this on my board stuff for school. I so look forward to have it this way, rather than spending a lot of time "de-tangling" the wanted color.Great idea, thank you for sharing!

I discoverd pinterest a while ago but just started my own pinboards.

Do you remove the metal springs in the middle?

Mrs. Jones said...

Anonymous: no, I don't remove them. I just wrap away.

LOVE this. So does my 10 year old. Now she has something to occupy herself instead of fighting with her 8 yr old sister. These girls have been up together since 6 am - too excited to get to go to a sleep-over tonight (with their future aunt!!). I think 5 hours of velcro time together has been toooo much. Thanks for the cute idea - busy her, happy me!!! :)

Thought it would be a good idea to write the color number on the clothes pin for matching purposes.

This was really helpful, thanks. It's very therapeutic wrapping the embroidery thread around and satisfying seeing it all neat. I have included it in my blog: https://carolineburton4.wordpress.com/2014/06/15/organising-my-craft-supplies/
