Some days you get lucky . . .

I stopped by the thrift store the other day, and found this gorgeous set of dishes! Woohooo. 8 place settings with a plate, salad plate, bowl and mug.

What's your best thrift store or sale find?

Those are so pretty! Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one. Probably an Ironstone platter. It's hanging on my wall right now.

What a find!! that is wonderful!

I volunteer at our church thrift shop so I have found some really really amazing things! :) Almost everything in our home is from there or a yard sale! :)

Gorgeous!! I'm a knitter, and my best thrift find was 100% wool skeins for 39 and 59 cents each!

I have thrifted all of my life:) Even if I was very wealthy I would still hit "my stores". I'm a big fan of recycling - and that's what we are all doing:)

I have found astounding finds in stores - just unbelievable what people give away. But the BEST, so far, was a brand new (with tags still on!) Drexel Heritage couch! My husband and I stopped at a Salvation Army on the way to a weekend getaway and the store had just opened. I spotted this couch the minute I walked in and it was WAY across a huge room:) The price? $120. I remember the cashier was thinking it was over priced!? We couldn't pick it up until Monday and when my husband returned with our truck, the man who helped him load it told him that they had over 30 people BEGGING to be notified if I didn't show up to claim it. He said they had one woman crying because it was sold!

It is the nicest couch I have ever had! And given where it came from - a very high end furniture store - I would never have been able to afford it. It's sage green with a light khaki colored damask pattern. WIth a channel-like back. Very solid and comfortable.

I did notice that the next time I went into a Salvation Army - anywhere - the couches were priced several hundred dollars above what I had paid:)

Sorry for the length of the comment - but I know we thrifters love a good "score" story!

My best thrift store find was an antique crystal chandelier that was perfect for my dining room. $35!
