I'm In Love

With white burlap. I'm decorating the teacher lunchroom at school for Teacher Appreciation Week, and I bought this burlap for a table runner. I've always loved burlap, but now there is burlap in color. White, blue, turquoise, red, yellow. $2.50 a yard!

But I need your help! Can anyone tell me how to get the awful smell out of it? I've washed it and Febreezed it, but it still is a little too stinky to cover a table where people are eating. Help!

how about a vinegar rinse? then let it hang dry and iron? Just a guess...vinegar is a great deodorizer! :)

no ideas for the odor-but it looks beautiful!

Hmmm..I wish I could help. I have some of the natural colored burlap in a small bathroom, and it doesn't smell. I don't know what to tell you except that it looks great!!!

Oh the smell! Just give it some time. It will eventually go away. I tried everything to get rid of it, but it finally just left. Give it a good week.

I have a bag full of burlap right now set aside for a few projects. Love it, and can't get enough of it! Not sure about the smell...

I unfortunately don't have any sage advice for the smell issue, but where did you find the colored burlap? I agree, fun indeed!

This may be too little too late, but if you're having nice weather try the sun and fresh outside air - it could work wonders.

Oh love the burlap too. maybe in time the smell will just fade away.

You'll just have to wait it out...I've down it often, as I LOVE burlap. But it seems like it gets stinkier every time I buy it...try hanging it up outside for a day!

Where did you get it? I need to get some "walls" for a booth I have at a craft fair and for $2.50 a yard, I could do it fairly inexpensively. Does Hancock's carry it?
